Is There A Disease That Makes You Fat
We all know that disease like anorexia or diarrhea can make you lose weight, but… is there a disease that makes you fat?
Now and then I usually met with fat people who say that they are fat because of a disease and not from their habit. Is it possible? If so then what are the possible disease that can make people fat?
Acromegaly – This is a condition where the growth hormon is being produced excessively. This cause the person to become bigger.

Hypothyroidism – A condition where the thyroid gland doesn’t produce enough thyroid hormone. It cause fatigue and people tend to eat more to relieve the fatigue. That’s why hypothyroidism can cause unintentional weight gain.
Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) – This rare disease is caused by the missing chromosome 15. People with this syndrome usually are fat, low on mental ability, and reduced muscle.
Cushing syndrome – Another hormone disorder that is caused by the high level of cortisol in blood. Rapid weight gain is one of the sign of this disease.
Polycystic-ovary-syndrome (PCOS) – this syndrome only happen in women. It is caused by the hormone imbalance. Weight gain and obesity can be caused by this syndrome.
All the disease above are the common things people assume to be the one that makes people fat, however it seems its not that quite right. Acromegaly is related to gigantism and that’s would make people big not fat. The other disease can make you fat, but it is only the sign and symptoms. Is there a disease that makes you fat and fat only? Well, meet…
infectobesity – study shown that people who are obese is caused by a virus after all. Ad-36 is the name of the virus and people who are affected by this virus is more likely to be obese than those who don’t. This disease still need to be researched though.
