How Much Cardio Do You Need To Lose Weight

Everyone wants to lose weight and doing cardio is one of the best fastest way to do it. It is not only good for weight loss it also good for your heart.

What is cardio? Cardio is every exercises that lift your heart rate and keep it high for a period of time. Cardio is short for cardiovascular exercises.

What kinds of activities that are considered to be cardio? Running (treadmill) or bicycling (stationary bike).

How much cardio do I need to lose weight? Well, it’s all about the math. If you want to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take. Count how many calories you take per day, generally people eat around 3000 calories per day.

Calculate that to number of calories you burn doing cardio. A simple running on treadmill with medium speed for an hour can burn somewhere around 500 calories (depend on your body weight, and intensity of the training).

Wait a minute so in order to lose weight, assuming that I eat 3000 calories per day is to run for six hours? That’s crazy, no way I can do that.

Well, luckily you don’t have to do that. Every small activities you do burn calories like walking, laughing, talking or even breathing. So in the end, the magic number you need to burn is not exactly 3000 calories its more likely to be less than that.

So how do we know how much cardio I need to lose weight? Well, you don’t. You have to experiment with it. Try doing one hour running for a month and see if it able to make you lose weight, if it doesn’t then add the training or do some diet to compensate.
