Coffee Before Bed?

I usually drink coffee before bedtime and this always makes me wonder if it is bad to drink coffee before bed? I do mean coffee with caffeine in it and not some decaf coffee.

For most people, coffee before sleep can disturb their sleeping experience as I use to feel before i get addicted to coffee. I had a bad experience with it as it makes my heart beat beat fast as you were running or hiking in the mountain. It really hard to sleep at that time and in the end I don’t sleep at all. At that time I was drinking espresso which is the bad-ass of all coffee in term of caffeine as it is pure caffeine.

That was in the past, now days i need to drink coffee to sleep. Is this normal? I know there are many peoples that are like me where they need to drink coffee to sleep, but is it just a habit or it can really help people sleep better?

People with ADD can become more focus and relaxed by drinking coffee and thus helping them to sleep better.

There are also chances that this is a habit that you make. It started when you are feeling dead tired, but still have work to do and so you drink coffee, but it didn’t help and then you sleep. The next day is also the same and thus the cycle repeat until it become a habit. I do think that this can only happen to coffee addict, as people that I usually see that need coffee before bed are usually heavy drinker (3-4 cups per day).

What the side effects of keep doing this? Well, one side effect for sure is that you will get used to caffeine to become drowsy and thus every time you drink coffee you won’t get that jolt of power most people get.
