What Weight Should I Be For My Height And Age

This is a common question that most people ask. They want to know if the weight they have right now is ideal or not. In order to find out people usually use the body mass index or BMI calculator. I’m not too fond of the tools, so I use different method to find out what my ideal weight is…

I usually use the minus a hundred method where your height is reduced by a hundred and that’s the ideal weight for men and for women it is reduced be a hundred and ten. For example:

My height is around 180 cm, and therefore my ideal weight should be around 80 kg, if I was a women my ideal weight should be around 70 kg.

As you can see, the formula is like this: for men (height – 100) = ideal weight and for women (height -110) = ideal weight. This of course only apply for cm and kg measurement.You can convert your weight in pound to kg and feet to cm first if you want to use this method. If you want straight method for the feet and pounds then here are some fast way to calculate it:

for men (height – 3 feet) x 60 = ideal weight, for women (height – 3 feet 6 inches) x 60 = ideal weight. My height is around 5’9” and therefore my ideal weight should be around 174 pounds, if I was a women my ideal weight should be around 138 pounds. 5’9” – 3′ = 2’9” x 60 pounds = 2,9 x 60 pounds = 174 pounds.

This method is not perfect as people has different bone density, fat, and muscle. So there are chances that even though your weight is ideal according to this method, you will still not satisfied with the body weight.
