What Is Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma is a rare cancer type that develop in the Mesothelium, a thin layer that can be found in the chest or in the stomach.
Mesothelioma is usually caused due to exposure to Asbestos. After exposed to Asbestos the cancer could take several years to develop. 9 out of 10 people with Mesothelioma are working closely or directly with Asbestos such as miner or Asbestos product manufacturer.
Mesothelioma is very aggressive disease and there are no cure for the disease. The only treatment that are available are to make sure that the patient is well until the time’s come.
Four types of Mesothelioma.
Doctor divide the types of Mesothelioma based on what part of the Mesothelium are affected. 70% of mesothelioma found in the lungs, there are also other rarer places to get mesothelioma such as in the abdomen, around the heart, and around the testicle.
Asbestos.
Asbestos is a natural mineral that are being used for several products. It is being used for drywall, plaster, mud and texture coats, sheeting, roofing tars, cements, valves, seals and other construction products.
3000 American are affected with Mesothelioma every year, the number is bigger for countries that mine asbestos. It is speculated that it is going to peak at 2020 and then drop as the use of asbestos are being greatly reduced.
Countries such as Australia and New Zealand are banning Asbestos to entering their countries because of this.
