This is one of the things that you might have heard before, I heard it many times before and it surprisingly it comes from credible people. The last person that just give me this advice is from my fitness instructor, saying that people who eat at night is going to gain weight. Even though I want to believe it as I always been under weight guy I find it not true as I been eating a lot at night, but still, no weight gain in sight.
So what’s the story behind the eating at night make you fat?
It is said that when people eat at night, they would probably go to sleep, not long after eating. Sleeping si an activity that doesn’t need to burn calories at all and thus the calories would be in your body unused and stacked for the next day.
Another theory state that people has lower metabolism at night which contribute to weight gain if you eat at night. The lower metabolism is based on the theory that your body would be tired after long hours of work in the day and so the metabolism would be lowered during the night when you eat.
There is also another theory that say people who eat at night would gain weight because of the companion when eating at night. Many people would eat at night with friends or family, and this would contribute to weight because people tend to eat more when chatting with other people. You are munching the food while talking not realizing that you are already full.
So is eating at night make you fat is a myth? It’s half true. For my case, I don’t gain weight even when I eat a lot at night is because I don’t go to sleep after meal, I don’t get tired during the day as I usually do my stuff at night and I usually eat alone (yes, its sad) in the middle of the night as there is no one I can’t call at 12 a.m.
