A friend of mine has been developing a weight loss campaign that consist of egg diet where she doesn’t eat any egg at all. What I meant with any egg at all is that she doesn’t eat cake, bread, or any other things that are cook along with eggs. She been doing this for couple of years and she said she was happy with the result. So eggs are bad for weight loss?

There are old sayings that eggs are bad for weight loss as they contain fat and cholesterol. Two bad things that you want to avoid when you want to lose weight. However, cholesterol and fat are something that your body need as long as it is in certain amount. Eggs only contain small amount of fat and cholesterol compare to the other nutrition that eggs has such as vitamin, selenium, amino acids, and it also low in calories.

So do eggs help you lose weight then?

Eggs and weight loss work well as the high packed nutrition value in eggs are capable to make you feel full and also it is healthy. A multicenter study of 30 overweight or obese women found that those who ate two scrambled eggs (with two slices of toast and a reduced-calorie fruit spread) consumed less for the next 36 hours than women who had a bagel breakfast of equal calories.

Eggs for breakfast is recommended by many weight loss expert as it can help you full for a longer time than any other breakfast meals.

So how does my friend able to lose weight if eggs are suppose to be good and not bad? I think that it has to do with all other product that has eggs in it such as cookies, cake, and other delicious high calories food that contain egg in it. By avoiding eggs, she automatically avoid all high calories dessert. By eating eggs itself is not bad but other products that are made with eggs which most of them are high calories dessert are the ones that you should avoid.
