Are Grapes Bad For Weight Loss

So many people are afraid that grapes are going to ruin their weight loss campaign because grapes contain a lot sugar. A lot of sugar is bad news for your weight loss because whenever we eat a lot of sugar our body react by craving for more. That is why it is recommended for people who want to lose weight to avoid cereals as they have a lot of sugar in it.

So grapes are bad then? Let’s check the nutrition in grapes shall we…

  • One grape would have 3,5 calories in it which mean if you eat 10 grapes it only has 35 calories. A pretty small number compare to other fruits.
  • Any fat in it? Yes, it contain less than one gram of good fat and zero amount of bad fat.
  • How many sugar in it? In one serving (32 grapes / 128 g of grapes) it contain 20 g of sugar.

The amount of calories and fat in it are certainly show that grapes are good for weight. How about the sugar? Now, many people think that 20 g of sugar is many but in my opinion that is small. Compare the sugar in cereals that has 4 g of sugar in one tea spoon. It only took 5 tea spoon or 1 table spoon to get 20 g of sugar. I will avoid cereals as they have lots of sugar in it but I won’t avoid grapes, but its your decision… Do you think 20 g of sugar is too much?
