Whenever I got a lot to think and need someplace where I can relax to I go meditate. Meditate can clear your mind and help you focus on what is important. Have you tried it? Here are my ways on how to meditate.
Serene Environment? Most people like to meditate in a quiet and serene place where they can relax. For me, this isn’t so important because not every people can find a serene place in their home. If they need to drive to serene place first then I think its going to be too troublesome. Meditate is about finding peace in the mind.
“Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well that leads you forward and what hold you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” – Gautama Siddartha
How to meditate the right way? Just remember these two:
Posture: When I first try meditating I never got the hang of it, not until I know the right posture. If your body posture doesn’t right then your mind is still clouded with thought and you can never find peace. After I learn how to do the right posture I got more clearer mind and more comfortable. The difference is substantial for body posture.
The leg position should be in lotus position. Now I know there are many position for you to meditate and most people like to meditate in a chair but if you are beginner then this position will help you a lot to clear the mind.
The back position should be straight but loose. This also useful to help clear the mind and free the flow of energy.
The hand position should be with the right hand is placed in the left hand, palms upwards, with the tips of the thumbs slightly raised and gently touching. Why this matter? Since the right brain control the left hand and the right brain control thought and with this position your thought is being pressed and the right hand is rested for your body to concentrate.
If you gonna meditate for hours then the tongue should be placed in the back of the upper teeth. This prevents excessive salivation while also preventing our mouth from becoming too dry. However, if you gonna meditate just for 15 minute then this isn’t necessary.
Breathing: Meditating is about breathing. When you have the right position mentioned above then your mind should be more concentrated and clearer. Now, aim that concentration into your breath. Inhale and exhale. When you inhale imagine that all the good energy is coming in into your body and when you exhale imagine all the bad energy/though is going away from your body.
How do I know what I am doing is right? Well, meditating is the art to silence the mind. If your mind has come to peace and able to concentrate on one thing then you are doing it right.
