You don’t want to exercise after eating because it can cause cramps. When food is inside your body your organ muscle is needed to liquefy those food. If you exercise after eating this means your body has to pump energy into the internal organ muscle for the food and into the external muscle for the exercise. If there isn’t enough energy then it would stop the internal organ muscle and product lactic acid which cause cramping.
So how long should I wait to exercise after eating? Well, it depend on how many or heavy your just ate. If it is a heavy meal then it would take longer time for the food to be processed which take about three hours, but if it is a light meal or a snack then it take less time which probably about an hour.
