Waaazzzaaabbiii! I love wasabi. Don’t you? There are lots of benefits it can give to you.
Prevent Cancer
Wasabi comes from the same family of cabbage and broccoli and therefore contain the same chemical called ‘Isothiocyanates’. This chemical activates the enzymes in the liver which help detox the cancer before they become a threat. It is so amazing that it can kill cancer cells without doing any damage to normal cells.
Reducing Inflamatory
Isothiocyanates also help reduce inflammation by preventing platelet application.
Anti-bacterial. A study has shown that wasabi can kill certain type of bacteria that is responsible for food poisoning. This is why there are many wasabi in use as hand wash.
Reduce the risk of heart attack, strokes and other heart related diseases by preventing abnormal clot formation. Because wasabi can stop platelet aggregation it is believed that it can reduce the risk of heart attack.
Prevents the sugar from sticking to the teeth, thus reducing any cavity formation. Wasabi help reducing the growth of Streptococcus Mutans which is the bacteria that is responsible for making cavities.
Even though it is good, getting a real wasabi is hard for those who lived outside of Japan. Most wasabi you get is probably a wasabi powder which has the same taste as wasabi but without any benefits mentioned above.
