Many people has believe that cracking your knuckles is bad and some even believe that it would lead to arthritis. Knuckle cracking doesn’t do any harm to you unless you do it excessively.
First we need to know what makes the noise when you crack your knuckles…
the noise is coming from the bubble pop out inside the fluid in the joint when you try to pop them. When you try to crack your finger the pressure in the fluid on the joint of your finger is reduced and thus the air inside is bursting out making the noise. And it takes half an hour for the air in the fluid to be filled again.
How do I know that cracking your knuckles does nothing harmful?
Well I found a research on 300 people that do knuckle cracking for 35 years and the result is not one of them have arthritis or any disease. But some people in that research that has been doing hardcore cracking does take some harm effect such as soft tissue damage and loss of grip strength.
The advice
If you like doing knuckle cracking then don’t worry because it won’t do you any harm like people said it would but I would remind you not to do it excessively. Beside Knuckle cracking is good and relaxing when you do it.
